Alleviate pain & strain caused by heavy large breasts.
Breast reduction is also called reduction mammoplasty. Breast reduction surgery can alleviate the physical aches and chronic strain on the back and shoulders from large breasts. It can also boost a patient's self-confidence. By removing excess fat, breast tissue and skin the breasts can be reformed into a shape and size that are both pleasing and proportionate.
At The MIAMI Institute, the approach is as always, to give the best results with minimal incisions. This means shorter recovery time and a better overall aesthetic. The primary surgical technique uses an anchor-shaped incision that goes around the nipple, down to the crease and along the crease, following the natural curve where the breast meets the chest wall. Excess glandular tissue, fat and skin are removed, the nipple and areola are put into place and then the skin from both sides are brought around natural tissue to shape the breast.
There are several variations on this approach that can include smaller incisions or not needing the vertical incision at all. Every patient is different so every patient so every patient receives individualized care.
Breast reduction surgery can take 2-3 hours and requires several weeks of recovery and regular follow-up appointments to monitor the healing process.
